Feeding Directions
Adult Dogs – Adult dogs with normal activity levels may be fed the recommended amount daily. Depending on your dog’s age and activity, serving sizes may vary slightly from the recommended daily feeding guide portions and you should adjust accordingly to maintain your dog’s ideal body condition and weight.
Active Adult Dogs – Highly active to more active adult dogs will require additional food depending on their activity levels. Food intake may need to increase as much as 25% to 50% of an adult dog with normal activity levels.
Puppies – Introduce Dr. Pol® Incredi-Pol™ Favorites Beef and Brown Rice Recipe to weaning puppies by moistening food with water until they are ready to start chewing solid food, usually 3 – 4 weeks of age. Allow them to eat as much as they want until fully weaned (6 – 8 weeks of age). It is recommended that growing puppies be fed free choice in 3 meals per day until 6 months of age, then twice daily until 12 months. After 12 months, transition to adult feeding directions.
Gestating/Lactating Females – Gestating females will require additional amounts of food up to 1.5 times the recommended daily feeding table for their non-pregnant weight to maintain desired body condition and energy requirements. Lactating females will require food at levels up to 3 times the recommended daily feeding table for their non-pregnant weight to maintain desired body condition and energy requirements. You can also provide food free choice and monitor body condition throughout gestation and lactation periods to ensure your dog’s feeding needs are being met.
